AFAC Open Call for Entry

Open Call Purpose

We are in the process of contacting various galleys and museums in an effort to promote fiber art in New Mexico and have been asked to share samples of our work. We are requesting up to two pieces that represent your work and style. These pieces will be used to make proposals and in advertising and promoting AFAC as a whole. There is no size or time limit on these pieces.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

All fiber art disciplines requested (hand and machine knitting, crochet, basketry, weaving, felting, mixed media, wood and paper art, embroidery, quilting, beading, wearable art, 2D and 3D works)

 

IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

It is critical that submitted images be of the best possible quality: in focus, with clear details.

  • For each wall-hung 2D entry (depth is less than 2 inches), submit one full view front digital image. 

  • For each 3D artwork (wall-hung or freestanding), submit one overall front image and one image from another angle.  

  • Full-view images MUST show all the edges along with a small amount of background.  

  • Digital images must be saved as a high-quality JPEG or JPG file (No TIFF files). 

  • Finished images should be at least 2100 pixels on the longest side (no maximum).  

  • Label your image(s) with your name and title (first name-last name-title)(first name-Last name-title-image2) 

 

ELIGIBILITY


Artists must be a resident of New Mexico. There is no fee. You may enter up to 2 pieces that represent your style.
